About this course:

This IAMI GUEST recognised intensive online Advanced Laundry course (GUEST U7) offers invaluable tips, guidelines and practical insights on how to apply and manage efficient laundry services onboard. Starting with the Laundry manual and moving into the various systems required for both guest and crew laundry, we look at useful procedures and simple steps which can save time while still ensuring the highest standards in equipment, garment and linen care.

What will you learn:

Knowledge of the Laundry manual, procedures and schedules
Inventories, Checklists and Standard operating procedures
Laundry products: their properties and uses
Crew and Guest Laundry procedures
Care and maintenance of laundry equipment
Health and safety in the laundry
How to manage and care for fabrics, garment care labels
Stain treatment techniques
Professional ironing and laundry techniques

The assignments and assessments are done in a variety of formats including research projects, video assignments and photo projects. You receive personalised 1-1 feedback on your assignments and exercises. You work at your own pace and it usually requires approximately 4-5 hours of self-study per module. All assignments must be completed and must meet the required standard in order to qualify for the IAMI GUEST certificate.

Prior to being accepted onto the program, there is a telephone interview where we discuss your current level of experience and why you feel this is the right course for you.
