KDW Training

Chief Stewardess/Senior Stewardess Course

About this course:

It’s time to step up and fine-tune your skills. This five-day programme is aimed at individuals who have worked in senior positions onboard for at least two seasons who are looking to consolidate their knowledge base and potentially build valuable new skills to help them become more effective in their roles.

We start off by taking an in-depth look at the Yacht Interior Administration skills required to successfully run the Interior department. This provides a sound theoretical foundation as well as practical training in creating and using checklists, standard operating procedures (SOPs), inventories, interior manuals for all Interior sub-departments (Service, Housekeeping & Laundry) as well as uniform inventories, ordering and purchasing.

From here we move to some of the key Human Resource elements of recruitment, performance management and how to train and develop your team. We look at the importance of communication, health and safety and as well as an introduction into MLC, flagstate regulations and crew contracts. We also cover how to organise and successfully manage Shipyard and Refit periods for the Interior, sharing valuable knowledge and experience that can be put into action immediately.

What will you learn:

The course is divided as follows:

Pre-enrolment call and CV

If this course sounds like something that you would be interesting in, then please send through an updated CV so that we can evaluate your experience.
